2025 LIFEGUARD season details

Application Process: New and returning lifeguards apply and interview each season. Submit the lifeguard application (with pdf upload of LG cert). Schedule an interview by making an appointment with Cody Graef, Aquatics Director. Please keep the following requirements and important dates in mind:

Apply by April 15, 2025; Interviews end April 26, 2025
Must hold a valid Lifeguarding Certification from American Red Cross to apply
Process: submit application, schedule interview (by appointment), practical assessment (scheduled at time of interview)
Interviews – appointment schedule link will be sent after application submission
Skills Assessment (in-water tryout)- you will schedule your assessment at your interview

Skills Assessment (In-Water Tryout) will assess practical lifeguarding skills. This session will be held at a second meeting (to be scheduled at your interview) Come to the session ready to swim and perform skills assessment: Swim 150 yds (front crawl, breaststroke, both) straight into 2 min. tread with no hands, brick tow (1:40 min), water rescue, and scanning assessment.

Mandatory Training & Meetings

Lifeguard In-Service Training (weekly, 1 hour): May 4 & June 1 (Sunday time TBD), then Mondays at 11 am (June 9 – Aug 11)
Brookside Staff Training (All Staff): May 4 time TBD
All-Staff Meetings (bi-weekly): day/time TBD

Lifeguard Season Schedule

May 23rd-31st: Friday 4 – 8:30P & Sat/Sun 12 – 8:30P
June/July: 12 – 9P daily
Aug 1st-10th: 12 – 8:30P daily
Aug 11th-31st: Weekdays from 4 – 8:30P, Weekends 12-8:30P
Sep: Fridays from 4 – 7:30 pm, then weekends from 12 – 7:30 pm
Holiday Hours: Memorial Day (11A – 8:30P), 4th of July (11A – 9P), Labor Day (11A – 7:30P)

2025 SWIM INSTRUCTOR season details

Application Process: New and returning Swim Instructors apply and interview each season (Year-round instructors need not re-apply). Submit the Swim Instructor application (with pdf upload of CPR cert). Schedule an interview by making an appointment with Cody Graef, Aquatics Director. Interviews can be booked by appointment link. Please keep the following requirements and important dates in mind:

Priority consideration for applications and interviews completed by April 26, 2025
Must hold a valid CPR Certification from American Red Cross to apply
Brookside CPR Training Offerings: TBD
Swim Instructor Training: TBD
Interviews (Feb 15 – Mar 1): Saturday 10A – 12:30P
No interviews (Mar 2-31 unless scheduled in advance with Aquatics Director)
Interviews (Apr 5 – 26): Friday 4 – 5P & Saturday 10A – 12:30P

Swim Lessons Schedule and Details

Lessons booked using bookeo module on the club website
Lesson times/availability based on instructor and client availability
Set your availability/ block off times unavailable on your google calendar and it will sync with your booking availability
Flexible scheduling, no Lessons on Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day Holidays, or special event days (swim meets at club)
Expand your teaching skill-set under guidance and supervision of experienced staff, training and teaching feedback provided

2025 SUMMER CAMP season details

Application Process: New and returning camp staff and volunteers apply and interview each season. Submit the Summer Camp application. Schedule an interview by making an appointment with Lidia Luque, Summer Camp Director. Interviews can be booked by appointment, email office@brooksideclub.com to set up an interview. Camp staff and volunteers have the following age requirements:

Apply by March 15th, 2025
Schedule interview with Lidia Luque, Camp Director Interviews will take place 2/26 – 3/9
Must be able to complete CPR training and certification to work or volunteer (Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED/First Aid)
Age Requirements: Camp Volunteers (12-13 years of age), Camp Staff (min 14 years of age with valid work permit)

Camp Staff & Volunteer Interview (by appointment) The interview will be a discussion of your strengths and goals for summer camp, discussion of schedule and availability, and share ideas and activities that you would like to bring to the program.

Mandatory Training & Meetings

Mar 15 (5 hours): CPR Training & Certification time TBD Note: The CPR session is the only date that Brookside can provide for training, if you cannot attend please obtain certification by May 15th to be able to work or volunteer this season.

Summer Camp Sessions Camp staff will be scheduled Morning and afternoon shifts (4 hours) for 1-2 weeks of summer day camp, volunteers are welcome to attend additional weeks. Swimming and outdoor activities every day.
